We are delighted to be able to offer this outstanding 1956 Jaguar XK 140 DHC for sale.
The XK140 was introduced in late 1954 to replace the XK120. The main changes to its predecessor is a larger passenger compartment to give extra leg room which was achieved by moving the firewall and dash 3 inch (76cm) forward and moving the two 6-volt batteries from behind the seats into the front wings. The OTS and DHC received a single 12-volt battery which was placed in the front wing of the passenger side.
Other changers were the front and rear bumpers with over riders, grill and chrome strips on bonnet and boot lid.
The same XK engine out of the xk120 was used but was increased to 190 bhp and when fitted with the C-Type head, which was fitted to the SE/MC models the power output was increased to 210 bhp.
The car that we are offering here for sale just underwent an extensive restoration and got some useful upgrades which are electric power steering upgraded front breaks including a servo as well as a larger capacity aluminium radiator with electric fan.
The car comes with a unique tonneau cover with incorporated storage space and an original fitted luggage set.
